Position Purpose:

The role of the Statutory Compliance Officer is to monitor and manage Riverside Marine vessel certificates and registrations to ensure vessel certifications are up to date and meet statutory requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and manage Riverside Marine Fleet vessel certificates and registrations using the Vairkko database. Verify the certificates entered by Business Units and Partnerships
  • Liaise with state and private surveyors to complete vessel applications and requirements
  • Complete and follow through with applications for vessel surveys and registrations
  • Assist the business units to uphold their vessel statutory compliance
  • Contact external agencies to organise the renewal of vessel licences and certificates
  • Be up to date with current, relevant Marine Orders
  • Management of EPIRB registrations and AMSA database for the entire flight
  • Provide assistance with vessel importation, sale and purchase, customs, ships agent, registrations and class
  • Produce and manage vessel slipping/docking reports and folders when required
  • Produce with set timeframes and conditions the Docking Reports for Managed Assets owned by other companies) vessels – administration, reporting, budget control
  • Administration required for New Build projects - manuals, drawings, certificates, safety equipment, minutes, and records management
  • Administrative Assistant to Technical Team as well as some procurement responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage files and records in the secure vessel files on networks drives and company databases
  • Organise and manage all training required for the Technical/Engineering team
  • Support continued adherence to QHSE protocols and document control
  • Report on fleet and personal certification and compliance across the group and to senior management
  • Highlight and escalate to senior management any issues or compliance requirements that are overdue, outstanding, or may result in deficiencies
  • Learn and adopt, awareness and cultural adherence to ISO 9001/14001/45001 management systems

Required qualifications, training and track record:

  • Knowledge of statutory vessel certifications and registrations.
  • Keen understanding of the Marine and/or Resources industry.
  • Keen understanding of the importance of maintaining standards and upholding requirements
  • Innovative thinker with the capacity to pay attention to detail.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Able to manage competing demands on time, energy and resources.
  • Excellent IT Skills including online databases, office suite, Excel, Word, and other software. Previous exposure to vessel/business certificate management systems highly valued
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
